Not Me! Monday

Oh yes Not Me! Monday is back! MckMama's baby, Stellan, is home from the hospital with his heart condition stabilized with medication for now. If you haven't checked out the story on her blog you should because it is an amazing testimony to how God sustains during trials.

I have NOT at all missed confessing what goes on behind the scenes here at It Feels Like Chaos.

My baby is NOT sleeping at night in a "big boy bed", meaning the bottom bunk of Big Brother's bunk beds.

He is still taking his afternoon naps in the crib. This is completely for his benefit and NOT AT ALL because I need a reason to leave the crib set up. We have had a crib in our home for over 6 years straight and it does NOT make me emotional to think of disassembling it!

My husband and I crept in to check on our sleeping bunk bed boys and did NOT find our toddler sleeping with his water cup perfectly balanced on his chest!

The ladder side of these bunk beds is NOT still facing the wall forcing my 6 year old to scale the footboards to climb up to the top bunk. We are NOT afraid that if we expose the ladder our toddler will break his leg jumping from the top bunk. If you have ever met our toddler you would NOT say this was a valid concern.

I did NOT jump on the bandwagon with the likes of Vicki, Big Mama, and Boo Mama, and buy the 30 Day Shred exercise video from Jillian Michaels, a trainer on the TV show, "The Biggest Looser". My husband does NOT DVR that show just to watch the weigh-ins and vote-offs! I have NOT been completely amazed by all the weight those contestants are losing.

I did NOT also purchase hand weights and an exercise mat to go along with the video at Target. I am a running-for-my-exercise girl and would NOT be swayed by all the 30 Day Shred hype! I'm also NOT AT ALL worried that seeing as how I'm now settled into my 30s I may need a weight lifting addition to my merely cardio work-out.

My 3 year old daughter did NOT fall in love with my new pink exercise mat. I did NOT have to ask her to move over repeatedly so I could have a corner of the mat to use to attempt the work-out! She did NOT ask me if she could "exercise" instead of reading a story before her naptime!

My 6 year old son did NOT fall in love with showing us how strong he was!

My son does NOT come home from kindergarten every day with this much mulch in each shoe! Seriously, how can anyone walk around with that much mulch in their shoe and not be uncomfortable? And how is there any mulch left on the playground at all?

Can't wait to hear what everyone else has NOT been up to!

  1. I feel your pain about taking down the crib - when our youngest one turned two, it was really painful, because we'd always had another baby by then. You do get over it, survive their teen years, and life gets even better!

Keep posting on the Shred - I'm contemplating jumping in also.

  2. I have NOT continued to put my 13 month old in her crib for morning naps all week long even though she stopped taking them. I am NOT hoping she will resume the nap.

  3. I'm joining the Shred bandwagon myself. Once I actually go out and get the video that is! But I can't stop thinking about it since I've heard so much about it!

  4. We have the same concern with our boys and the bunk bed and our ten year old just has to scale the end to reach his bed :-)

    Happy Monday!

  7. Um, can I confess that I cried the day we moved Lady's crib DOWN THE HALL to her brother's room?

(found you by way of MckMama and the Not Me's! btw)

  8. That cracks me up about his water cup! HA!

And I hear you on the mulch, my son is the same way with sand. I pour a ton out of his shoes!

  10. Always love your posts! Especially the one about your "baby" boy turning two. My youngest too just hit 3-month and 3-year milestones. It's great to see them grow and change, yet it makes my heart a little sad too.
