Roses are Red, Violets are blue. . .

Spring is definitely on its way.  Wanna know how I know?  The fruit fly trap is back in my kitchen!  My kids leave the back door open as they head in and out a million times and the flies take the opportunity to move on in!

I took that picture outside because that was right before I released those critters, but all those fruit flies were caught inside, right in my kitchen --ewwwww!  That's why I can often be heard saying, "Close the door!  I don't care if you are going right back out, you can still close it in between!"

Little Girl likes to do the Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred with me:

I think Jillian would be impressed.  Pretty good form for a 4 year old!

My favorite moment of my new 10 year old's birthday celebration today, the presentation of the gifts his siblings made for him:
My 7 year old daughter wrote him this poem, "Roses are red, violets are blue.  We are brother and sister and I love you."  She came up with it all on her own!

  1. I hate fruit flies. I put out a little cup with vinegar and cover it with plastic wrap with little holes. They also seem to like being in my bathroom which I don't quite understand.

  2. I wish it felt like spring was coming here soon. Still so cold for us. Love the 4YO working it!

  3. Great fly trap!! I will be making one of these things!!

Your daughter has great form!! Much better than mine would be!! Is that a good workout series? Is it more for advanced athletic than beginner?

What a cute poem! Isn't it sweet when they do that?

    1. Yes, I love the 30 Day Shred workout. There are 3 levels and each gets harder. Then within the levels there are 2 different girls, one doing an easier version of the moves and one doing harder, so you can pick who you follow.

  5. Ewe I hate those flys too. We have no signs of them here, yet. We do have stink bugs, oh how annoying they are.
I love the pink PJ's and sneakers. The form is good too...
What a beautiful poem. Such a good picture too, they all look so happy :-)

  6. I'm still in shock that you actually release the fruit flies so they can come right back in.

At my house they get "sent to meet their maker" when they invade my space.
