My toddler wants to marry Jesus!

Recently my husband asked my 2 year old who he was going to marry.

My toddler thought for a minute and said, "Jesus!"

My 4 year old daughter immediately chimed in, "You can't marry Jesus! Because He's in Heaven!"

Then her reasoning took a completely different route than I expected.

"And He's an adult. You have to marry a kid."

My husband interjected, "You don't marry a kid. When you are an adult you marry another adult."

To which my daughter replied, "Yeah, but you can't marry your teacher because when you're an adult she'll be a grandma!"

I'm thankful for 4 year old logic and the fact that Jesus comes up in our daily conversations.

And as for marrying Jesus, He is the ultimate bridegroom isn't He?
Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. Matt 9:15

  3. Oh out of the mouths of babes for sure. At my son's recent birthday party we were at a restaurant with ALOT of people and all the little ones (mainly my grandkids, haha) were running around and under the tables etc. At one point we saw a little hand grab a loaf of bread and it disappeared under the table. My sister leaned her head under there and asked the little group what was going on. My 5 year old granddaughter said, "Oh, we are just pretending there was nothing to eat and Jesus is going to give us bread. It's a miracle!" Made my whole night...Have a wonderful day..Hugs, Debbie

  6. I loved reading this, as we now have 3 grandchildren and the oldest also talks about Jesus in such a personal way. The 2 toddlers are soaking up what they can learn about Him. What a blessing to hear your daughters talking about Jesus as the Love in their lives!
