Summer Lovin'

Summer is

a good excuse to relax,

a cool blue hat to keep the sun off your face,

wearing flip-flops everyday,

countless trips to the pool,

sticky Popsicle hands,

swimsuits drying on the patio,

fresh fruit served with every meal,

grocery shopping with 3 kids in tow,

no homework,

no lunchboxes to pack,

afternoons spent reading chapter books aloud,

making pasta salad and yogurt smoothies,

pushing bedtime a little later to allow for family game nights,

enjoying uninterrupted time together,

wishing any of my babies were still small enough to fit in that baby float!

  1. I love summer! I really loved the summers we had when the kids were younger. A later bedtime, bbq's, no homework, etc. Now they're older and busier (they both have jobs). I still love summer though!

I think I told you before but for some strange reason I can see your pictures but not your words in Firefox. So I always have to use Internet Explorer browser when I view your blog or I can't read your posts. Isn't that odd?

Anyway, thank you for linking up today!

  2. Aw... how sweet is that? Unlike you, however, I do not want to go through the "diaper stage." Happy Blue Monday.

  11. Thanks for the great reminder about the important things in life. Your blog always reminds me to enjoy these moments- these times with small children. Even though some days can be tedious, there is much simplicity and beauty in these days and I know I will miss them someday.

  13. I am too blue to do Blue Monday but am taking time to jump to some of the blogs. This one reminds me of good times when I was raising the kids and enjoying summer to the fullest. Times that will resonate in my mind while I plod through the daily stuff at present. It will change, everything changes and God is good!
