Can you tell I'm not really here?

So, as it turns out, my house does not clean itself.

Nor do my children pick up after themselves without me encouraging, reminding, rewarding, nagging, suggesting, consequencing, and sometimes literally holding their hands through the process!

I have been physically gone more from home this past week as my mom has had some pretty big health issues, and when I've been here, I've not really been on my game.

Hence this shoes-socks-toys-nap mat-backpack-tap shoes-school papers explosion in my kitchen.

But that mess can be fairly easily cleaned up, and for that I am thankful.

Although right now, at ages 6, 4, and 2 years old, my children do not automatically clean up after themselves, some day they just might, (like maybe when they are grown up and have children of their own) and for that I am thankful!

I'm not sure if, when, and/or how I am going to share on this blog more details about what has been going on with my mom, but I have no deadline, and for that I am thankful!

My mom is now out of the hospital, and doing much better than last Thursday, and for that I am very thankful.

She is far from okay and back to normal, though, and there is no guarantee she will be on this side of heaven, but His grace is enough. God's grace is enough, and for that I am eternally thankful.

  1. I'm so very sorry about your mom. I'm glad she has you. She must be a very special person because you sound devoted to her. Love and hugs to you both and, of course, I'll be praying for you.

  3. Hugs and prayers! Bonnie is right. The mess is evidence of priorities in the right place.
